It won't be any time soon either; From real estate, legal counsel, marketing and yes, executive headshots -you get what you're willing to pay for. Are there Joe Schmos and Sally Shneezes out there offering alleged “headshots”? Yup. Are you willing to roll the dice on your professional branding and potentially close the door on future opportunities?

If you are willing to give up on:

  • Authentic, unforced, confident & approachable expressions with images that match your unique persona,

  • Being thrilled and eager to post your images (you finally felt photogenic),

Heck, go for the gusto and have a stranger take your headshots in your kitchen, with an orange-tinted overhead lamp! You may get lucky and come away with a DMV/Passport quality first impression to showcase to the world.

The other option? Pony up. Harsh yet true; if you want quality it requires an investment. There is no way around it, whether you’re investing time, effort, ideas, money or a combination of these things —investment leads to value. I’m presuming that all of us in the professional world are reaching for goals.
